Welcome to IN AIR!

The National Research Infrastructure IN AIR – Infrastructure Nationale des Aéronefs Instrumentés pour la Recherche, aims to integrate access to French airborne facilities : research aircraft (UAR SAFIRE), stratospheric balloons (CNES) and long-range unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs, under development). IN-AIR integrates an instrument pool of 100 aircraft instruments and offers services to users wishing to fly their own instrument : support in the installation of instruments and equipments, realization of flights all over the world.

Through this integrated access, IN AIR aims to allow multiscale observations of the Environement. IN AIR platforms and instruments permit applications in scientific topics such as Marine sciences, Atmospheric sciences, Land & waters, solid Earth, Ecosystems, Astronomy/Astrophysical sciences, Life sciences and Technologies. The observations permitted with airborne platforms allow to resolve fine-scale processes which are not accessible from ground or space.

Airborne datasets are hosted and centralized in the AERIS (IR DATA TERRA) datacenter.

Call for consultation : long-range UAVs in IN AIR.

IN AIR is reflecting on opening access to long-range UAV, with instrument weight capacity ~8kg for missions up to 700 to 1000 km.
